Design & fit-out of a riverside coffee shop in Henley

The Brief

Create a welcoming coffee shop with a calm, natural character while ensuring the layout supported efficient day-to-day service.
Operational flow was central, with the space required to accommodate varying customer patterns throughout the day.

Our Approach

Front-of-house atmosphere was developed alongside back-of-house workflow. A rustic material palette, softened with green accents and planting, introduced warmth while remaining practical for daily use.
Layout planning prioritised customer movement and staff operation. Queue flow, barista working zones and sightlines were structured to support clear circulation and consistent service.
Seating was arranged to accommodate both short visits and longer stays without compromising access or counter efficiency.

The Result

The completed café combines a clear, functional layout with a calm and natural interior identity.
Service areas operate efficiently during busy periods, while the seating arrangement supports flexible daily use.

The space now supports efficient daily trade while reflecting the client’s intended character and setting.
