Design & fit-out of a restaurant centred around open pizza preparation

Our Brief

Create a warm and engaging dining environment focused on the theatre of pizza preparation.
The layout needed to balance customer visibility, seating capacity and smooth day-to-day service.

Our Approach

The counter and serving area were positioned to allow clear visibility of the pizza-making process, reinforcing transparency and adding energy to the space.
Rustic timber elements were introduced throughout the interior, complemented by controlled red accents referencing traditional pizzeria styling without overwhelming the room.
Mirrors were incorporated to enhance natural light and visually extend the dining area.
Seating was planned to maximise capacity while maintaining comfort, with flexible table arrangements supported by perimeter bench seating to use space efficiently.

The Result

The completed restaurant combines warmth with operational clarity.
The open preparation area creates a direct connection between kitchen and dining space, while timber finishes and red detailing establish a recognisable identity.

The space now supports efficient service during both everyday trade and peak periods.

If you’re planning a new commercial space or reworking an existing one, we’d be happy to talk through your ideas and explore how Meridian Heights can support the design and build process.
